Welcome to troop 441

Welcome to Troop 441 of Berlin, Connecticut.

THE Scouting Program

Everything we do at Troop 441 and the manner in which it is organized and conducted has a purpose behind it – to develop character, fitness, citizenship, and leadership. We believe that the personal and social development opportunities available through our scouting program are not found in school or sports. Scouting is unique. There are long-term outcomes that we want for every scout. These are called the "aims" of scouting and form the bedrock of the scouting program.

The three aims of our scouting program are to:

Mission Statement

Our Mission Statement is to first, uphold the Mission Statement of the Boy Scouts of America, which is, “Prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and the Scout laws.” Secondly, our mission is to deliver a fully developed program so that each scout can achieve meaningful personal growth and character development.

Vision Statement

Our Vision Statement is to first, uphold the Vision Statement of the Boy Scouts of America, which is, “Prepare every eligible youth in America to become a responsible, participating citizen and leader who is guided by the Scout Oath and Laws.”  Secondly, our vision is to prepare scouts to make good choices during their lifetime that will keep them safe, healthy, and connected with God. We accomplish the vision by providing a core of well-trained adults who are aligned with the Boy Scouts of America principles and who serve as role models for the boys. We also accomplish the vision through the many engaged parents who provide the much needed support.

The rewards

By providing a program that follows the Boy Scout methodology and adhering to the core principles of scouting, each scout associated with the troop will consistently advance throughout the program. The reward for THEIR efforts is a real sense of accomplishment. The reward for OUR efforts is the privilege to serve the youth in our community.
